Hi everyone, this is Artur Madzhar, a tennis player of the Juan Carlos Ferrero – Equelite Sport Academy. I would like to share with you my great experience in a professional tennis tournament in Monte Carlo.
I travelled with Nicolás Almagro and his coach, Samuel López to the Masters Rolex Monte Carlo. The whole week was like this: when we arrived to the Nice airport, one of the workers of the tournament met us and we went to the hotel on a Mercedes Benz. There are no enough words to describe the official hotel of the tournament, with all kind of luxuries around us, next to the beach and the club.
When we woke up next day, we went to the club, got our credentials and went on practice. From the first minute, I had the chance to know and speak with some top players like Tsonga or Ferrer. Of course, we had to go to the players lounge where normally all of them have their own space, locker rooms, TV’s, sofas, get massages, etc. It is the best place to be in peace with no noise around and not so many people.
What it is good to recognize is that most of the players are so kind, funny and respectful when we were talking to them. Nico was practicing everyday with some other players and it is incredible to be inside of the court, all rounded by fans and spectators who want to see them training. Even, one of the days, I practiced with them and lots of people came to the court to have a look on us. That is, perhaps, one of the best feelings when you see people who clap and admire your job.
As you can suppose, lunch and dinner are always the same: past, vegetables, meat, fish. I think that this is the best way to keep the best performance possible and, of course, this is the diet that all the players follow in all this meals.
Other thing which was surprising was the private night party that the tournament organized for players. All of them look like good friends and keep a good relationship. This is what makes tennis so different to the rest of sports! And this is why I love this sport so much!
In conclusion, I am pretty sure that most of us, tennis lovers and who knows, perhaps the future players, who like to have this kind of life, this kind of service during the whole day from all the staff of the tournament and which is much more important: I am very motivated to continue working because I felt an atmosphere which was really nice and funny although we could train hard and keep concentrated when necessary.
WE MAKE TENNIS. WE ARE TENNIS.
